IT’S NEVER TOO EARLY to enter
your favorite large-scale photos!

The top 13 winning photos will be featured in the 2012 BTO Club Calendar
which will be included in the Winter/2011 issue of the Big Train Operator Magazine.

Deadline for entries is October 1, 2011.

Images will be accepted in digital or print format. In order to ensure the highest quality reproduction, see the following:

PRINTS
Format: 4" X 6" (minimum size), 8" X 10" (maximum size) photographic prints, color or black and white. Photos must be clear, sharp and have good contrast.

DIGITAL PHOTOS
Resolution: Min. 300 dpi when resized to 8" X 10"
Format: .jpg or .jpeg
Acceptable media: All types of CDs, DVDs, 100MB or 250MB Zip disks

Remember: An image that looks great on your monitor at 72dpi will print like a mosaic-tiled floor when enlarged. Please keep in mind that if you take a low-resolution digital photo and “size it up”, it will become “pixilated” or grainy and therefore will be unusable. If your digital image is not used on the grounds that it isn’t of a high enough resolution, please understand this is not a matter of taste or opinion, it’s a technical fact. Photos embedded in a Microsoft Word file won’t work, they must be separate from the document.

Mail all entries to:
BTO Editor
117 W. 55th St.
Westmont, IL 60559

Photos become the property of the BTOC and cannot be returned. The BTOC reserves the right to limit the number of final entries per member.

DEADLINE IS OCTOBER 1, 2011!

(Of the parralels between the railways and the church) both had their heyday in the mid-nineteenth century; both own a great deal of Gothic-style architecture which is expensive to maintain; both are regularly assailed by critics; and both are firmly convinced that they are the best means of getting man to his ultimate destination. - Reverend W. Awdry
