BTO Club 33rd Anniversary Celebration
Boston, Massachusetts - July 26-30, 2011
Boston, first incorporated as a town in 1630, and as a city in 1822, is one of America’s oldest cities, with a rich
economic and social history. What began as a homesteading community eventually evolved into a center for
social and political change. Boston has since become the economic and cultural hub of New England.
As the region’s hub, Boston is home to nearly 590,000 residents, many institutions of higher education, some
of the world’s finest hospitals, and numerous cultural and professional sports organizations. Millions of people
visit Boston to take in its historic neighborhoods, attend cultural or sporting events, and conduct business. And
in 2011, the BTOC will celebrate 33 years of Havin’ Fun Runnin’ Trains in “bean town”.
Ridin’ the ... "T"
As a big part of the 2011 convention, the BTOC will ride the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority
(MBTA) to most of the planned events. In terms of daily ridership, the T remains the nation’s 5th largest mass
transit system. It serves a population of over 4.5 million in 175 cities and towns. To carry out its mission it maintains
183 bus routes, 3 rapid transit lines, 5 streetcar (Central Subway/Green Line) routes, 4 trackless trolley lines and
13 commuter rail routes.

Boston Duck Tour
You’ve never toured Boston in anything that comes close to Boston Duck Tours! The fun begins as
soon as you board your “DUCK”, and are greeted by one of their legendary
tour ConDUCKtors, who’ll be narrating your tour. Then you’re off on a journey like you’ve never had before.
You’ll cruise by all the places that make Boston the birthplace of freedom and a city of
firsts, from the golden-domed State House to Bunker Hill and the Fleet Center, Boston Common and Copley Square to the Big
Dig, Government Center to fashionable Newbury Street, Quincy Market to the Prudential Tower, and more. And,
as the best of Boston unfolds before your eyes, your ConDUCKtor will be giving you lots of little known facts
and insights about our unique and wonderful city.
And just when you think you’ve seen it all, there’s more. It’s time for “Splashdown” as your ConDUCKtor splashes
your DUCK right into the Charles River for a breathtaking view of the Boston and Cambridge skylines, the kind
of view you just won’t get anywhere else.
